Barau Jibrin Foundation Scholarship: Applications are now open for the Barau Jibrin Foundation Domestic Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This initiative, offered by the Barau Jibrin Foundation, is designed to foster academic excellence and empower deserving graduates from Kano State to achieve their educational and professional aspirations. By expanding access to higher education, the programme aims to create a skilled workforce equipped to address local and global challenges.
Building on the success of sponsoring 70 students for master’s programs abroad, the Barau Jibrin Foundation will now support 300 exceptional graduates to pursue their postgraduate studies in top universities across Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria – Barau Jibrin Foundation Scholarship
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be under 35 years of age
- Hold a first degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields with a CGPA of 3.5 or above (on a 5.0 scale)
- Possess five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics

- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
- Academic Certificates (Primary, Secondary, and Bachelor’s Degree)
- NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter
- Local Government Area (LGA) and State Indigene Certificates
- Official Academic Transcript
- A well-written Letter of Motivation.

About the Major Sponsor
The scholarship programme is sponsored by the Barau Jibrin Foundation. Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, is a prominent Nigerian politician and current Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate. He has been serving as the senator representing Kano North since 2015. Barau Jibrin assumed the position of Deputy Senate President in June 2023, showcasing his leadership and commitment to national development.
